Alchemist Ventures was founded in 2017 to disrupt the cycle of technology development, transition, and integration. The founder, Patrick Wearn, knew that the the only way to do that is through four lines of effort: Engagement, Mentorship, Management, and Economic Growth.

  1. Engagement: Provide outreach and events to connect local businesses, civic, academic and society members to key initiatives.

  2. Mentorship: Grow strong founders, mentors, advisors, leaders and entrepreneurs.

  3. Management: Support Key local initiatives, marketing, publicity, recruitment and other programs

  4. Economic Growth: Position economies for growth through positioning, recruitment, and focused programming.

Patrick brings almost 20 years of service to the Department of Defense, first having served in the United States Marine Corps for ~6 years in a variety of roles including Civil Affairs, Acquisition, Infantry and Administration. Following his tenure in the Marine Corps, Patrick served in a variety of roles at the US Army’s Tank-Automotive Research, Development & Engineering Center (TARDEC) now known as the Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC). Up until his departure from GVSC in December 2019, Patrick oversaw technology scouting and venture/private equity engagement as part of the External Business & Acquisition Management Offices, with technical focus areas in automotive, autonomy, mobility, ground combat systems, and related technologies.
